Matthew Hayden is one of Australia’s most decorated opening batsmen in cricket’s history. The former opening batsman played 103 Tests for Australia spanning 15 years.
In 2010, the year following his retirement from the game, he was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM), in recognition of his contribution to Australian society. The honour paid tribute to Matthew’s service to both cricket and the community.
Since hanging up his baggy green, Matthew divides his time running his management company The Hayden Way along with his media and production agency the Get Outside Group. As an experienced broadcaster he has worked on major productions all over the world as well as publishing multiple books.
Matthew has served on the Australian Cricketers Association for 8 years along with the board of Queensland & Australian Cricket for two years. More recently he has been appointed to the board of Mahindra Automotive Australia Pty Ltd as well as supporting many charitable projects including the Hayden Reynolds Tiwi College Project, Macquarie Group Sports Foundation, Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia, Foodbank Australia and Ronald McDonald House.
In 2017 he was awarded a position in the Cricket Australia Hall of Fame.
Above all else, Matthew’s greatest passion in life is his family. He lives in Queensland with his wife of 20 years Kellie, daughter Grace and sons Joshua and Thomas.
